Following the decision on 20th March to close LEGOLAND Discovery Centre we continue to follow the latest Government guidelines and are asking guests with tickets booked between 26th April and 1st June 2020 to visit our website for information on how to move their booking free of charge. We are monitoring the situation in line with Government and local public health authorities and will provide an update as soon as we can on when LEGOLAND Discovery Centre will be able to reopen. COVID-19 UPDATE:
On 20th March, in line with the Government’s response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, we took the decision to close LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. This decision was taken to protect the health and wellbeing of you, your teams, and our guests.
For any school that has paid for their visit between 21st March and 1st June 2020 and wishes to cancel a refund is available. Exploring the effects of gearing, and balanced and unbalanced forces on the movement of an object. Can you build a device that can make a spinning top spin? What changes can be made to make it spin for longer?

Learnings and Objectives

Focusing on engineering and technology, students apply knowledge and skills related to structures, engineering design, weight and counterweight, and fair testing via construction of a LEGO Catapult.

SEESAW

  • Key stage 1
  • STEAM, Science, Technology, Maths

Learnings and Objectives

Demonstrating the scientific principles of balancing forces, energy, levers and pivots via the creation of a Seesaw build. Students predict outcomes of experiments involving experimentation with weight.

  • Workshops will be based on a first-come-first-served basis upon booking. 
  • Large groups may need to be split up.  
  • School groups visiting The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham will not be eligible for a free workshop.
